Expressions of Interest
open for class action

The Disability Doesn’t Discriminate campaign was launched in June last year, aiming to address the severe inequity of funding for people with a disability aged over 65, who are unable to access the NDIS.

The campaign was coordinated by Spinal Life with 28 partner organisations, gaining more than 25,000 signatures on our petition ahead of the federal election earlier this year.

Despite the petition sparking discussions among candidates at the time, neither of the major political parties expressed a clear commitment to resolving this issue.

Mitry Lawyers is now developing a class action lawsuit to encourage the Commonwealth Government to introduce funding support for people with significant disability over the age of 65.

The law firm is calling on those who have been excluded from receiving NDIS support due to their age-selection eligibility criteria to put forward an Expression of Interest in pursuing the class action lawsuit.

24,945 signatures did not convince politicians to take action.

It’s time for more direct action now.
